A Resilience Strategy

Today I woke up & felt horrible. I had thoughts of despair & an overall bad experience. I didn’t want to give up. I wanted to overcome the bad start to my day. So I think the process to pull myself into a better feeling situation consisted of about 3 parts. The first is that I processed the thoughts & recognized what I was concerned about. I then continued to try & let the thoughts go. They are just thoughts, nothing more & nothing less. The third step is to reach for better feelings. As I let go of the “bad” thoughts, I reached for a consistent feeling of “good” thoughts. It used to be when I had a bad start to a day, it could last the entire day. I gave up hope of things changing & just struggled through. I then arrived at an insight, “Just because I have a bad start to the day, doesn’t mean the entire day has to be bad.” The day is a series of moments. Each moment has a different feeling to it, based on the level of consciousness we are experiencing. As we move through this human experience, we will have bad times where we struggle. Hopefully, we can practice resilience, & turn situations around sooner than later. If anything, I am also encouraging, to not give up. The times where we feel really angry, sad, or any low emotions, they say, “This too shall pass.” I find this wisdom to be true. As much as I would like to always feel good, when I don’t, I can change it.
