“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27

If it isn’t Peace & Joy, then it isn’t for me. I recently made this declaration. Will I get frustrated & upset again? I probably will. Yet, I realize now that it isn’t from God if I’m thinking, feeling, or experiencing anything other than peace & joy. The Scripture specifically says that Jesus gives us peace. I believe the verse to be true, so I want to apply this to my life.

Yes, there will be circumstances that try my patience. There will be thoughts & feelings that don’t feel good. I see this as all the more reason to keep seeking God & remain in His presence. I’m not saying this will be easy all the time. There will be times where I will want to buy into my sinful nature & get upset with others. That isn’t what I want. I just trust that God is good & I can work with Him to be the person He wants me to be.

The enemy doesn’t want me to be at peace in my mind, with my words, or in any other way. Just sharing this could make the test of my patience all the more important. The devil doesn’t like when we take a stand for what is good. I hope this entry is helpful to anyone who reads it. I pray we all realize how much peace & joy is worth seeking. This is a fallen world & there will be tests & trials. I just hope for us all to have a good quality of life.
