Biblical Scripture Journal

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

This is the first Biblical scripture that arrived in my mind to start a new blog. It is a verse filled with hope within this life on Earth. As I recognize that I’m 48 years old, I have stepped way back to evaluate what is truly important to me. To observe my Christian faith in Jesus & how it can give positive outcomes within the life I’m living. Growing up in the church, I knew of the stories & history of Jesus. I have loved Jesus’ style & what He represents for most of my life. That’s not to say I haven’t fallen far away from what He wanted for me & my life. As the prodigal son returned Home to his Father, so have I; & I want to stay in His presence.

The solution I have recently found, after realizing my frustration, is about kindness, love, grace, & all the fruits of the Spirit available to me. Please know, I’m not writing any of this to be holier than thou. I saw a video online that had the title, “You’ve consumed enough, & it is time to start creating.” So here I am, writing to share, to give my situation to anyone who might read it. I only hope to encourage & share my views of what I feel is important to me. It is truly helping me to have peace, while spending time with the Lord. I’m not going to start reading the Bible more to try to spiritually one-up anyone. I just want to understand the way for me to live a good life here on Earth, & for the eternal life I am promised through Jesus.

I want to approach all this with humility, discernment, and kindness. I plan on following through with a blog post at least once a week. I’ll do my best to focus on what is important & helpful for the reader & myself. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’ll be praying & seeking God. I look forward to sharing with you what I am finding as life moves forward. Take good care, be safe, & enjoy the day.
